Vetiver grass has a wide range of other uses that make use of vetiver leaves and roots and the complex chemicals that have been identified in the plant; they are of economic and social importance, but are not part of TVNIs main agenda, except for the use of vetiver as a resource of handicrafts and a growing interest in vetiver as a significant plant for the sequestration of atmospheric CO2.
