Vetiveria zizanioides -- Planted on a west facing slope in Bellingham, Washington State at about 49ºN. After two years it had about 40 tillers. Grass grows slowly in this temperate climate with cool summers (max temp 80ºF) and warm winters (min temp 25ºF -- mainly ground frost)
